My passion for redesigning furniture started with my mom. When I was 25, she passed down her bedroom set to me. Six years later, the dark wood no longer fit my style, so for my 31st birthday, she offered to paint the pieces. About six weeks later, she delivered them back to me—and they were incredible. I remember telling her, “I could never do that—too many steps, too much work!”
But a few weeks later, we were out garage-sale shopping and I fell in love with a jewelry armoire for just $10. The only catch? It was dark cherry and very dated. Mom suggested we paint it. So we did—took it apart, sanded, primed, painted (twice!), distressed, added a furniture transfer, sealed, and reassembled. When it was done, it was perfect. That piece sparked something in me—first the desire to do another, then my very first sale. And from there, I haven’t been able to stop.
My background is in design—I graduated with a degree in Fashion Design from The Art Institute of Dallas—and I’ve lived in Austin since 1996. The city, the people, and the way of life here inspire me every single day.
At the heart of it all, I’m a family person. Lake days, dancing, and family dinners keep me grounded and recharge me so I can bring fresh creativity and energy into every piece I redesign.
