This oak dresser was chemically stripped using Klean Strip Stripper and After Wash, then fully hand-sanded with 150-grit sandpaper to prepare the surface for finishing.
A custom paint wash was applied using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Coco, mixed at approximately 20% paint to 80% water, then worked into the wood and wiped back to enhance the natural grain while keeping the finish light and even.
The base was made out of one red oak 1" x 2" and 2" x 2" and DIY Wife tutorial was followed for design and build process. Base was washed and sealed the same as the rest of the piece.
The entire piece was sealed with General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Satin, with approximately 20% Flat Out Flat added to soften the sheen.
Original hardware was retained, preserving the existing patina and character of the piece.
