Sonnet White Secretary

Customer-owned secretary desk with hutch.

This piece was fully refinished and updated in Sonnet White by Mélange Paints, with careful prep and stain-blocking primer used prior to paint to ensure a durable, long-lasting finish.

The paint was sealed with General Finishes High Performance Topcoat in Satin, with approximately 20% Flat Out Flat added to soften the sheen.

The original hardware was replaced with brass ball knobs from Hobby Lobby, selected for their scale and proportion with the drawers. Original keyhole escutcheons were retained and refinished in Rust-Oleum Metallic Gold to coordinate with the new hardware.

The writing surface and interior desk area finish was refreshed with Howards Restore-a-Finish in the color Dark Walnut and then polished with Howards Feed n Wax. Drawer interiors were finished with decorative liner paper sourced from Amazon.
