Over 100 years old and thoughtfully restored for its next chapter, this antique oak pedestal table underwent an extensive transformation while preserving the character that makes old furniture special.
Originally designed with extension leaves, the table was rebuilt into one solid fixed-top piece after the leaves had become too damaged to reuse. The base was also reworked, including the custom fabrication of four new white oak feet designed to complement the original silhouette and proportions of the pedestal base.
The entire piece was stripped to raw wood, carefully sanded, stained in a rich custom dark brown tone, and sealed in a durable satin oil-based polyurethane finish for everyday use. Special attention was given to blending the newly fabricated components with the original aged oak so the restoration felt cohesive and natural.
Finished in Behr’s Padre Brown stain and sealed with Minwax satin oil-based polyurethane, the table now carries its history forward while being ready for many more years of use.
